Albuquerque, NM – On Friday, April 23, Brown Mackie College – Albuquerque staff and administrators will volunteer for a full workday at The Storehouse and The Manzano Mesa Multigenerational Center as part of the Brown Mackie College National Week of Service.
Over the past month, Brown Mackie College – Albuquerque has collected food donations from students, teachers and community members on behalf of The Storehouse. In addition to presenting barrels of collected food, volunteers will also spend time at The Storehouse organizing donations, stocking shelves and assisting with operations. The Brown Mackie College – Albuquerque volunteers will also spend several hours at The Manzano Mesa Multigenerational Center. Volunteers will participate in grounds keeping tasks, performing maintenance and cleaning services, cleaning and organizing the kitchen and picking up trash.
“The National Week of Service, celebrated by all Brown Mackie Colleges across the country, is an important day that allows us to give back to the communities where our students, faculty and staff live, work and play,” Eric Rudie, campus president at Brown Mackie College – Albuquerque said. “It is a great time for us to work with the community we serve towards a common goal and make positive changes at organizations that are so vital to the Albuquerque.”
Brown Mackie College – Albuquerque will also present grants to The Storehouse and Manzano Mesa Multigenerational Center on behalf of the volunteers.
“Brown Mackie College-Albuquerque is proud to be actively invested in the Albuquerque community, and while this is our first year in Albuquerque we look forward to celebrating this week in the years to come,” Rudie said.
